The Mercy Ministry Fund

The Mercy Ministry Fund was established by the Sisters of Mercy to support groups which help to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in our local communities. Funding of up to €8,000 is provided to charitable groups/organisations in Kerry & West Cork.

The fund focuses on specific areas of need:

Educational Disadvantage
Addiction
Domestic Violence
Homelessness
Social &/or Ecological Injustice

Guidelines for Applicants for the Mercy Ministry Fund 2024

  1. The Mercy Ministry Funding is administered by the Sisters of Mercy, Southern Province, Cork.
  2. Completed application forms must be submitted by email to mercymf@mercysouth.ie on or before the 11th October 2024.
  3. Please complete each section of the application form (download from the link below). Do not leave sections blank. Please state NOT APPLICABLE in sections not relevant to your application.

Process for administration of applications

  1. The Mercy Ministry funding does not cover any Capital costs or salaries.
  2. The maximum grant allocated is €8,000.
  3. Application forms must be returned by email to mercymf@mercysouth.ie
  4. Successful applicants will be required to submit relevant bank details.
  5. The funding received must ONLY be used for the purpose for which they are given.
  6. The funding Committee has the right, at its own discretion, to nominate a representative to visit the project.
  7. All successful applicants will be required to submit an evaluation using the official Report Form. This enables us to monitor the effectiveness of the grant and provides accountability about how the funds were used. We will require a description such as quotes from the beneficiaries as well as photographs (if possible) of how the proposed project was used and the value to brought to its users. These may be included in our Annual Trustee Report to the Charities Regulator. Individuals will not be identified.
  8. You are responsible for ensuring that any evidence you provide is in accordance with DATA PROTECTION.
