- Closing date for applications extended by one week to 3pm on Thursday 5th September
- Groups encouraged to get applications finalised as soon as possible
The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, has extended the closing date for the Community Centre Investment Fund to 3pm on Thursday 5th September .
Under the Community Centres Investment Fund 2024 , community organisations will be supported with grants of between €10,000 – €100,000 to develop and enhance their existing community facilities. The initial closing date was 3pm (today) Thursday 29th August.
Speaking today, Minister Humphreys said:
“In June, I was delighted to open a new round of funding to support the upgrade, renovation and refurbishment of community centres across the country.
“While most groups now have everything in place, I know that there are still some groups who are finalising different aspects of their application. I’m very aware that these applications are being completed by volunteers who have lots of other demands on their time. I want to give those volunteers every chance to finalise their applications in the coming days and so I am extending the closing date by one week.
“I would encourage all groups to finalise their application online in the coming days ahead of the new deadline. I also want to assure groups that personnel are on hand to deal with queries as they arise.”
There have been a number of online information events to assist potential applicants. Recordings of these events together with a range of information supports and access to the online portal can be found at the Department of Rural & Community Development website here . Groups can also submit any queries to ccif@pobal.ie .
